If you happen to be in New York City tonight, feel free to swing by the Snowdaze house happy hour.

The house happy hours are a a great way to meet other people who have done a ski share house before and find out more information. It’s also just a good way to meet some other skiers and boarders who are excited for the season to begin.

Killington Brewfest A Success (If You Had a Ticket)

Killington Resort’s 14th annual Brewfest was held this past Saturday, October 3, 2009, and was a resounding success with over 1,500 tickets sold. The initial plan was to sell 2,000 tickets, but when the rain forced the event to be held indoors, organizers had to scale back the number of tickets sold at the door. This caused a couple of hundred people who didn’t pre-buy tickets to be turned away. (We warned everyone!)

Still Time to Catch the Killington Hay Festival

There’s still time to catch the Killington Hay Festival which runs through October 12, 2009. From the official town site:

Businesses in the Town of Killington celebrate Vermont’s Working Landscape with one of the town’s most popular events, The Killington Hay Festival: A Celebration of Vermont’s Working Landscape, Labor Day Weekend through Columbus Day. 37 magnificent sculptures from hay capture the marvels of many imaginations! Visitors should stop at the Chamber of Commerce Welcome Center on Route 4 to pick up a Hay Festival Scavenger Hunt guide and complete the quiz on Vermont agriculture. Answers are provided at each sculpture. There will be prizes and complimentary Vermont Cabot Cheese at the Welcome Center.

Killington Bridal Show – Today!

We almost missed this one, but figured we’d post it in case anyone is interested:

The 9th Annual Killington Bridal Show is today, Sunday, September 27, 2009, at The Mountain Meadows Lodge. Put on by the Vermont Wedding Association, this yearly event features the area’s top wedding professionals. It’s a great chance to meet one-on-one with caterers, bakers, DJs, florists, photographers, jewelers and more.

Killington Brewfest

Killington Brewfest

The annual Killington Brewfest is this Saturday, October 3 from 1pm – 6pm at the Snowshed Lodge at Killington, VT and speaking from personal experience, it is an event not to be missed!

This year, the annual party features 25 breweries pouring over 60 different beers: ales, porters, wheats, lagers, stouts and seasonal creations. There will also be two live bands and food.

Tickets are $25 and include a 3oz souvenir tasting glass with twelve beer sampling tickets. If you want the souvenir pint glass, it will cost an extra $3 this year. Extra beer tickets are also available for $1 each. For those not drinking, tickets are $5.

Ticket sales end Thursday, October 1, unless it sells out before then, which it has been known to do. Unfortunately, you’ll have to navigate Killington’s horrible online ticket site to buy your tickets. I do everything online and I can say in this case, it would be much easier to call them and order tickets since their ecommerce site is so poorly designed and hard to navigate. Hopefully that is also on their list of things to upgrade.

If you’re in the Snowdaze Ski House, this is an open weekend at the house and everyone is invited to come up and stay there. It’s a great way to spend a fall weekend, meet some new people, BBQ and get out of the city. Email info [AT] snowdaze.com for more details.
