Pray for snow!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look quite like this yet.
Just received a tweet from @KillingtonMtn that the first snow of the season is falling on Skye Peak! Will it be an early season? Probably too soon to tell, but this is promising!
New photos have just been posted to Killington’s Facebook page which detail some of the new work being completed on The Stash, Killington’s ultimate free-riding experience. The Stash is one of only five Burton Stash parks in the world and the only one on the East Coast. It opened for the 2008-2009 season and has seen numerous improvements since then.
The latest work involves a new milled down bar, round down bar and a fresh wall ride all hidden in The Stash woods. You can see the work in the photos below.

Looking forward to tearing it up this season!

On Sunday, the Rutland Herald reported that the free Killington Road Night Shuttle was $20,000 short on donations needed to operate this season after Killington Resort was unable to donate $50,000 of its funds due to the economic conditions.
However, in today’s paper, they note that Killington Resort has agreed to add funds to the cause but opted out of contributing $50,000 after noticing that donations from other area businesses were down.
The night shuttle transports workers and visitors along the Killington access road and runs from 5pm – 1am on weekdays and until 2am on weekends.

In what is a sure sign of the coming ski season, season passes for the Pickle Barrel nightclub go on sale next week, according to an email sent to their mailing list. More details will be announced next week.
If you’re not familiar with the “Pickle Pass,” let us tell you that it is a great deal for any frequent visitors to Killington. For around $120 (they offered a special sale for $80 that ended on May 2), the pass allows you free admission and a special VIP entrance into the Pickle Barrel for all but special events throughout the season. Plus, you can bring a friend in for free with you on any night but Saturday. You also get free admission to JAX Food & Games bar next door. With cover charges of $18+ on peak weekends and lines of over an hour in the cold, it pays for itself in no time.
The Pickle Barrel also opens for Brew Fest this weekend for the first time since last season. This Saturday, October 3, they are featuring Kick which they bill as the “ultimate rock show.” Saturday, October 10, they have The Degenerates and Saturday, October 17, they have Pepper. You can find out more details on their web site.
And, if you can’t get enough Pickle Barrel news and updates, you can sign up for the mailing list on their web site, follow them on Twitter, become a fan on Facebook, and friend them on MySpace. You’ll never miss an update!

In July 2008, Killington Resort launched the Killington Insider blog and it was great! The blog provided an inside look at Killington’s operations, plans, news and more. They posted photos and videos of work being done on the mountain, insider updates and often broke a lot of Killington news. It became a great resource to keep up on the latest happenings from Killington and was updated by Tom Horrocks, Killington’s Communications Manager, and Chris Danforth, Killington’s Marketing Manager.
Then, just as peak season hit, the blog updates stopped coming. From February 6, 2009, to June 15, 2009, there wasn’t a single update? Was everyone too busy skiing?
Well, the good news is that the blog is back and the updates keep coming. From June 15 through today, they have posted 35 updates. Not too shabby considering it is technically the off-season. I just wanted to say congratulations to the Killington team for their efforts, and I hope they continue the blog all season long.
