Killington Brewfest 2011

September 7, 2011 No comments yet

Don’t believe the hype! Killington’s Brewfest 2011 is on!

While Irene did cause quite a bit of havoc across the state, Vermonters are very resilient and work on repairing the damage began the day after the storm passed through. The Killington Island is well on its way to being accessible from all directions, and the Access Road was left pretty much untouched.

This means that the 16th annual Killington Brewfest is indeed happening on Saturday, October 1, 2011. The Snowdaze Ski House will be open for all shares to come up and enjoy the fall foliage as well as partake in sampling ales, pilsners, stouts and handcrafted lagers from a variety of Vermont and New England microbreweries and craft breweries, while also enjoying live entertainment.

Buy your tickets now though! This event sells out every year, and many people are left out in the cold.

If you’re not yet a house member, contact us to find out more and we hope to meet you soon.

The Brewfest runs from 1pm – 6pm and you should buy your tickets in advance as it sells out every year.  The $20 admission charge ($25 after September 1), gets you:

  • Commemorative drinking glass
  • 12 beer sampling tickets

  • Live music
  • Additional beer tickets will be available for $1

Also new this year is the Brewmaster VIP Dinner at the Wobbly Barn on Friday, October 1.  This $79 ticket gets you a VIP 4-course dinner prepared by Chef Justin Blais. He’ll pair Vermont brews (Long Trail Brewing Co., Harpoon Brewery, Magic Hat Brewing and Otter Creek Brewing) with culinary creations from local producers.  It also includes admission to the Brewfest on Saturday.

Lodging packages are also available from Killington Resort, but of course, members of the Snowdaze Killington Ski House enjoy a free weekend at the house to mark the early kick off to the season.

We hope that you’ll join us!

Dock Dogs Comes To Killington

August 28, 2010 1 comment

Snowshed is playing host to the 2010 Killington Dock Dogs Weekend from September 17 – 19.

What is Dock Dogs, you ask? Well, from their FAQ:

DockDogs is the independent governing and sanctioning body for regional, national, and international dock jumping performance sport for dogs. DockDogs establishes the rules and standards of the sport, tracks and records results, and promotes the growth of its athletes, Teams, events, spectators, and sponsors. To that end, DockDogs establish and review under committee direction DockDogs® Rules and Policies which are reviewed and updated annually.

This weekend makes all of Snowshed dog-friendly and features an outdoor venue, dog agility groups, and a large vendor area. Plus, you can register your dog to compete as well.
